Custom is a better process

Custom Should Feel Different Before You Pick the Countertops.

You should never have to choose between a beautiful plan, a realistic budget, and a team that listens.

Our approach begins with understanding how you live. What works in your current home? What never quite has? Where do you want natural light, privacy, gathering space, or a simpler everyday routine?

With in-house design and construction experience working together, we can explore meaningful options early—before decisions become expensive changes.

Why families choose Landmark

A Different Kind of Building Experience.

A home that fits should begin with a process that fits. We focus on the things that make a difference long before move-in day.

01

Design Around Real Life

Start with how your family actually uses each room, rather than forcing your life into an existing floor plan. We can adapt a Landmark design or begin with your own ideas.

02

Let the Budget Inform the Design

Design decisions and cost decisions belong in the same conversation. We help you understand priorities, tradeoffs, and what will make the greatest impact before finalizing the plan.

03

Know Who Is Building Your Home

Local leadership, established trade relationships, and accessible project management bring continuity and accountability to an experience that should feel personal.

The Landmark standard

Quality You Can See. Quality You Can't.

A beautiful kitchen gets noticed. The quality behind the walls is what helps a home stand the test of time.

Our conversations about quality include more than the finishes you touch every day. We think carefully about structure, building-envelope details, and the construction practices that support comfort, longevity, and confidence.

We believe homeowners should understand how a home is built—not just what it looks like when the photography is finished.

01

The building envelope

Examples from Landmark specifications include 2×6 exterior-wall construction, ZIP System sheathing, and attention to properly sealed openings.

02

The structure beneath the finishes

Details such as ¾-inch AdvanTech subflooring can be just as important to the everyday experience as the flooring installed above it.

03

The windows, doors, and materials

We discuss the performance, durability, and appearance of the actual products being specified—not simply the color and style.

04

The craftsmanship tying it together

Thoughtful detailing, consistent workmanship, and attentive field supervision help the complete home live up to the design intent.

Illustrative examples only. Materials, assemblies, options, and included features vary by home, community, and signed specifications.

Design and daily life

Great Design Is More Than a Floor Plan.

It's what happens when thoughtful architecture meets the way you actually want to live.

Tim Pelton brings more than three decades of field experience and formal architectural education from the University of Cincinnati to Landmark's design approach. His perspective connects visual character, space planning, site considerations, and construction realities.

Whether the priority is a better kitchen workflow, a well-planned mudroom, natural light, a quieter primary suite, or something entirely your own, the details deserve attention while they're still on paper.

The people building your home matter

Trusted Partners. Consistent Workmanship.

Relationships aren't just how we treat clients. They're also how we work with the people who build our homes.

Landmark has invested in long-standing relationships with local trade partners, many extending a decade or more. Consistent teams bring shared expectations, familiarity with our standards, and pride in the finished product.

We also believe in setting realistic expectations and following through: under-promise, over-deliver.

When something isn't right, we make it right. That's the kind of accountability we'd expect in our own home.

Local Heritage. A Personal Commitment.

Landmark's story begins with Rob Root's long-standing connection to Medina. His great-great-grandfather, A.I. Root, helped shape the community through entrepreneurship and innovation in the 1800s.

Rob founded Renovation Homes in 2006, later operating under the Landmark Homes name. Today, that local story continues through homes designed for the next generation of Medina families.
