Rooted in History. Built on Tradition.

In 1869, A.I. Root was a skilled jeweler and entrepreneur working on Medina’s historic town square. His remarkable journey into beekeeping began with a simple wager: he offered an employee a day’s wages to capture a swarm of bees outside his second-story window. What started as a moment of curiosity soon became a lifelong passion, ultimately leading to the founding of The A.I. Root Company.

Driven by innovation, an unwavering pursuit of knowledge, and a commitment to quality, Root built a company that would become an integral part of Medina’s history. His entrepreneurial spirit and deeply held Christian values helped establish a legacy of integrity, hard work, and craftsmanship that continues to influence the community generations later.

In 2006, A.I. Root’s great-great-grandson, Robert “Rob” Root, carried that entrepreneurial tradition forward by founding Renovation Homes, Inc. Built on the same principles of quality, innovation, and personal relationships, the family-owned company earned a reputation for thoughtful design, exceptional craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Today, that tradition continues as Landmark Homes.

While the industry has evolved, the values behind our work remain much the same. At Landmark Homes, we believe building a home is about more than construction. It’s about earning trust, developing lasting relationships, and creating something meaningful for the families who place their confidence in us.

From the first conversation and initial design concepts to the final walkthrough, we take a personal approach to every project. We listen, collaborate, and guide our clients through each decision, working to make the experience as enjoyable and rewarding as the finished home itself.

Our philosophy is simple: honor the traditions that brought us here, embrace the innovation that moves us forward, and never lose sight of the people we build for.

We invite you to experience the Landmark difference as we dream, design, and build a home that is uniquely yours.
